My normal working hours are Weekdays 9 am – 3.30pm and 7 pm – 9 pm, Saturdays 9 am – 11 am. I am happy to work outside these hours by appointment. Contact me.
I am based in Romsey, Hampshire, UK but work across the UK and worldwide through the wonders of modern technology! Most of my consultations are via Zoom. I am happy to visit local families, all consultations are in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
I work with families to successfully solve a wide variety of sleep difficulties, in children from 8 months old to 8 years old, including Onset of Sleep Association Disorder (needing a ‘prop’ to go to sleep and stay asleep with), frequent night wakes, early morning wakes, short/non-existent naps, nap transitions, learning to sleep alone after co-sleeping, learning to sleep in their own cots/beds all night (a particular issue with toddlers), bedtime difficulties and many other sleep problems. If you are wondering if I can help your family then please call me on 07817694333 for a chat about your specific needs or book a call.
I work with families from pregnancy to 8 years old to solve the wide variety of sleep challenges that families face.
There is a lot parents can do from the first few days of a babies life to teach them self settling skills that will enable babies to sleep through the night as soon as they no longer need to feed during the night.
Toddlers pose particular difficulties for their parents and I am often told that sorting out the sleeping problems has positive spin offs in other aspects of life.
Many sleep consultants do not work with children over 5 because the children and the sleep challenges in the 5-8 age group are sometimes far more complex and require greater persistence and patience, but I enjoy the challenge and work closely and successfully with parents to find and implement sensitive solutions.

You don’t need to use a sleep consultant, however if you are concerned that your child/children are not getting adequate sleep and you do not have a clear strategy to help improve the situation then expert assistance is definitely useful! There is a lot of conflicting advice out there about different methods to help children to sleep, from ‘Cry it out’ to ‘whale music’, but none of it is tailored to your particular child, or takes your particular parenting views into account. Many families I have worked with have felt that they have ‘tried everything and nothing helps’, they are then surprised (and delighted) when what I recommend does help! My experience and in-depth knowledge of children’s sleep enables me to make a through and objective analysis of the sleep problem and present options, explaining the implications of each one so that you, as the expert on your child, can choose which option will suit your family best. I will then work closely with you for two weeks as you implement the sleep plan to answer any questions and make the adjustments necessary to adapt the plan as your child’s sleep changes. When families follow advice in a book they cannot contact the author for specific advice on their child – with a good sleep consultant that is exactly what you can do, thus taking all the guess work out of the situation. I monitor the sleep of all my clients daily and have daily support and advice calls and can therefore swiftly ‘tweak’ the plan to ensure the best results.
I am a fully trained, knowledgeable and experienced professional sleep consultant that loves a challenge! Parents tell me that they appreciate my caring, dedicated and tenacious attitude. I am delighted that 100% of the families that stick to my bespoke sleep plans enjoy success. I place particular emphasis on incorporating parents views and preferences into the sleep plan which ensures that the sleep plan is easily workable for each individual family. I offer daily support and advice follow up calls/emails so that you never have to second guess yourself. (I do not work on Sundays/Bank holidays but will respond to an urgent question when I am not ‘at work’ if I am able to). Please read the testimonials that happy parents have written, call me for a chat about sleep on 07817694333 or book a call.
This varies from child to child, but generally speaking babies have the capacity to sleep through the night from 4 or 5 months, the problem is that they don’t necessarily have the skills to sleep through from this age, so I enable parents to teach their babies this important life skill. Babies that no longer need to feed in the night and have been taught good sleep skills from an early age (ie those who have benefited from a Newborn Consultation) often sleep through at 4 months.
I define sleeping through the night as 10-12 hours of solid sleep, children’s brains and bodies need this amount of sleep to gain the full benefits of the restorative powers of deep REM sleep. Having good sleep is vital to enable children to grow, rejuvenate their immune systems and heal wounds. Your child sleeping through the night isn’t just best for you, it’s best for them too!
The majority of families are delighted to see dramatic progress at night within a few nights, while other babies and children take a little longer to embed the skills we teach them. Some babies/toddlers and children do sleep through the night on night 1, but this is extremely rare.
My packages include two weeks of support and for most families this is enough time to develop healthy sleep patterns. Sometimes it takes a little longer, this depends on the child and how closely the parents stick to the bespoke sleep plan I develop for the child. I am happy to work with families for longer if required.
Yes, I will always try to choose and adapt strategies to best suit each individual child, please call me to discuss your child’s particular circumstances and needs.
Change can be upsetting for children and most will show their upset though tears. I will not ask you to leave your child alone to cry while they are learning their new skills. I will explain the rationale behind all the aspects of the sleep plan in the Consultation, you choose the options that you feel will suit your child best. I always advocate the gentlest effective methods. Visit the Solutions page to find out more. Call me on 07817694333 or book a call.
Of course! I offer a twin/sibling discount. Second child is 50% reduction in price, third and subsequent children are 75% reduction in price.
Yes, all the methods I advocate are completely safe, and are in accordance with best practice guidelines set out by the NHS (UK), American Academy of Pediatrics and The Canadian Pediatric Society. The methods will not make babies/children feel abandoned, rather they give babies and children the security of being able to self-settle and sleep, an often neglected basic need. Visit the Solutions page to find out more.
I guide and support parents very thoroughly through the implementation of the plan and I am always happy to come and spend the first night of the plan with a family (local to Romsey, Hampshire) to support the parents. However to give adequate support to the child who is learning new skills I always advocate that parents implement the changes needed themselves, and be consistent with them. This empowers parents and reinforces valuable skills that will come in useful when the child’s sleep needs change.
